Silence
Give it a minute...
For those who would rather listen than read (or both!) I have recorded this piece for you.
Silence
When there is nothing to say don't fill the room with words. Don’t fill your mind with thoughts or opinions or descriptions. Let the Silence be there… Befriend it like a soft white rabbit. Wear it like a supple shawl that attunes to the shape of your body – your shoulders, your neck and throat. Let Silence be a lap to lay your mind; to lay down the urge to defend or justify; to explain yourself. Let Silence be your teacher; your companion. It has much to say, much to offer - if we allow it to accompany us. But never be Silent because someone tells you to. Hum quietly to yourself to re-calibrate your soul. And when you are ready to speak, let your words be sound and true. True to your needs and desires. Never, ever apologize for asking for what you need and want. And realize that it takes practice to even know what those are. Hold the energies of your heart closer to your spine than to your chest. Silence can live more easily there. In the Silence, allow your body to be your voice, when no voice is there to speak for you. Move, sway, dance, sink into the stillness of the Voice of your Soul. A Voice that has long been with you; a Voice that came here with you, and wants to be known…re-known, remembered, first and foremost, in Silence, by You.
The Invitation
Just for one minute… (which seems so extravagant right now in our lives),
be Silent.
For just one minute…
Set your phone timer. And then set it down.
Perhaps sit down, close your eyes, or look at the sky, a tree, your hands…
And let Silence take you
where it wants you to be.
What it wants you to feel, see, know…
Gift this one minute
to Silence,
Gift this one minute
to Yourself.
With love, and more love,
Ché

I’ll let silence follow that.
